Increasing digitization is creating new opportunities to make production processes smarter, more flexible, and more sustainable.AI is changing not only how products are made, but also how companies create value through new business models at the intersection of manufacturing, services, and data.<h1>The Impact of AI on Industry</h1>AI makes it possible to make better use of data from production processes and, as a result, to operate more efficiently and innovatively.Among other things, AI contributes to:<ul><li data-list-item-id="e4796aadc26e72f6df16921dfa6a1dcfa">optimizing production processes and improving product quality;</li><li data-list-item-id="e84f58dc95a125dd3fb95be173d6bfa8b">predictive maintenance and more effective use of machinery;</li><li data-list-item-id="eccb941632f0cf6101937fba48754b2b8">greater flexibility and automation in production lines;</li><li data-list-item-id="ea722c9be475009159a4ab7a315f92f30">smarter use of raw materials and energy;</li><li data-list-item-id="e02e1afadb1e8fb0c4cc59bd4342e8bf8">and new, data-driven business models.</li></ul>These developments are essential for tackling major societal challenges, such as those related to energy, climate, healthcare, and safety.Through initiatives such as AIC4NL and the BOOST Smart Industry program, efforts are underway to create an industry that ranks among Europe’s most flexible, adaptive, and digitally integrated production networks.

In East Netherlands, companies, research institutions, and government agencies are collaborating closely on the digitization of the manufacturing industry.
